 Once upon a time, I read a really awesome fic where Dean got bitten by a vampire and soon found that he sparkled every time he stepped into the sunlight.  He was devastated, and eventually figured out that Edward Cullen was a tulpa created by teenage girls.  By killing the tulpa, I believe they saved Dean from his horrific fate.
